Lydia Will Be Leaving

Lydia has just received the news that she has been invited to Brighton by Mrs. Forster! The good thing about this is that all of the militia will be travelling to Brighton as well. Lydia will for sure find a man that will accompany her for the rest of her life, for there are so many handsome soldiers. I cannot wait to see what happens! But, on the downside, Lizzy's invitation to vacation with the Gardiners has been cancelled because of Mr. Gardiner's working situation. It seems to me that Lizzy is a bit upset, but she is doing a fine job of letting it go. However, she has to visit Pemberly, which she dreads due to the fact that Mr. Darcy might be there. I can't help but feel nervous for her. Let's hope all goes well.

  1. Really? I did not know that. Good luck to lydia. I hope she will fall in love with a man that will make her happy. And you're right mother I am a little nervous. I do not want to run into Darcy.

  2. Mother that is such exciting news to hear about Lydia. I do have to say that I am sorry that it did not work out with Mr. Bingley and I. But we shall have be hoping for the best for Elizabeth and it may be the best time she has ever had. Mr. Darcy can't be that bad all the time and we never know she may fall in love with him and I could get two married sisters when they come home.

  3. Oh mother, how could you be so naive as to wish your daughter luck in finding an officer for a husband. You even said that when you were a young girl, the officers were simply fun to flirt with. You had no intention of marrying one of them, so why would you wish that upon your daughter. If such a thing happens, her life will change for good, and her current luxurious life will cease to exist. Now on to more civil matters. Thank you for your concern on my running into Mr. Darcy; however, there is no more need to worry. A denizen of Derbyshire has informed me that Darcy has gone away for the summer! There is no longer a need for either of us to worry about my running into such a wretched man.

  4. Lydia needs to become a more civilized lady. She needs to begin to look up to Lady Catherine and act more like her, for if she does then she will be able to have more men flock to her, other than the other way around. The way that she runs to men and throws herself on them is so unattractive and is looked down upon. I even heard a rumor that Elizabeth is embarrassed by he little sister because of the way she acts, what a shame to the entire Bennet family that Lydia child is.

  5. Best of lucky to Lydia and your family. I wish the best for you even if it is not me. I have the sincerest apologize for my actions. Now all I want to is to give best wishes to Lydia on her trip. Hope she finds love.

  6. This is exactly what I meant when I explained to Lizzy the faults of her relations. You, Mrs. Bennet, seem to be encouraging Lydis's disgraceful behavior. How could Lizzy ever expect me not to point this out to her. I proposed to her for her personality and beauty, not at all for her terrible relatives. And regarding Lizzy's visit to Permberly, I cannot foresee it going well at all. After she humiliated me and made me feel ashamed of my feelings, all I can hope is that she too is ashamed upon visiting my home.

  7. Mrs. Bennet, while I know little about Lydia, I do know that she may be searching for love in the wrong places. You have raised her in such a way that she imagines love as a position or a trophy. Wealth and status or marriage just because is not the way. Love is what brings people together - unforced love.
