Coming Home
I am so incredibly excited, for my two lovely daughters, Jane and Elizabeth, are coming home very soon. I cannot wait to hear their gossip and news about their adventures they have had. Jane will have much to tell me, but Elizabeth will be shy about her adventures and most likely not care unless she has something very important to discuss, like the proposing to her of Mr. Darcy! I am so excited to see my beautiful daughters and it will be so nice to have the whole family at home again.
Dear mother, I am so happy to be returning to Longbourn for I have missed father and the rest of you very much. Though Darcy's proposing to myself is rather important, I feel no need to discuss it. The way he asked should illustrate to you exactly why I did not accept, for Mr. Darcy was being arrogant and supercilious towards myself, my family, and my connections. Because of this horrible proposal I think you should understand EXACTLY why I did not accept; therefore, you should understand fully why I will not be marrying him. Was it not you mother who said that Mr. Darcy was "not at all worth pleasing"? It is here that I rest my case; the proposal shall not be discussed upon my return.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I can not wait to be back home with the rest of my immature sisters, and bickering mother. I find it especially amusing that you would say that I am shy, when we both know you will not allow me to stop talking of that disgusting Mr. Darcy for days on end. But of course I must admit that I miss my home, and in some strange way I even miss you, mother. See you soon!
ReplyDeleteAs Darcy's good friend I have, too, heard of such news. It is unclear to me who Elizabeth reacted as she did, but I can only assume she had good reason for doing so. Also, I am sure Darcy really loves Elizabeth a lot to take such a step forward; it is not common that you see who Darcy truly is inside. At the end of the day I would like to remove my opinion and remain neutral on the encounter - as I prefer to spark no drama among my friends.

You must be stupid Mrs Bennet. Your daughter Elizabeth is not fit to marry my Darcy! She is a poor slob, and she should be sent to the Hulks! You should convince her to marry someone that is IN her league!

ReplyDeleteOh you want some exciting news do you? I did propose to your daughter Lizzy and was turned down. I guess I do not measure up to her standards. You should talk your absurd daughter into marrying me because im the best thing she could ever have.
Oh mother! I'm so excited to see you as well! Lizzy and I have so many stories of the adventures we have been on. Darcy might be a sore subject on Lizzy's part, but I'm not one to talk for her, do whatever you must. I love you and see you soon Mommy!
